Polydactyl Toes (Basic)
Polydactyl Toes (PdPd or Pdpd) is a dominant gene that results in a cat with multiple toes. There are several variations of how this gene can present, from having a large “thumb foot” to having a double foot where the whole paw is duplicated as a mirror image.
Despite being a dominant gene, a cat with only one copy of this gene may or may not present as polydactyl, whichever the artist prefers.
Chimera (Storied)
The Chimera Trait causes a cat to carry and display two different sets of genotypes. It can be fairly varied in its appearance, with up to a perfect 50/50 split between each genotype, split into sections or patches. "Hidden" Chimeras are also allowed, with something more like a 1/99 split between the genotypes (a red tabby // blue/black solid that only has a small spot of red tabby on its tail is acceptable!)
Pastel (Storied)
Pastel is the most common of the Divine Blessings, often passed down through the genetics of devout followers of the Divine. This gene causes any amount of markings to take on one or multiple Pastel colors, and is not restricted by the Base Coat of a cat. On a Solid Cat without any markings, it can create a pale, "ghosting" effect of the hidden markings on the cat's genotype.
Pastel optionally allows markings to go on top of White, including Dominant White, Colorpoint, and Albino.
A few examples:
- Pastel effecting only part of a Black Tabby's markings.
- Pastel having a "ghosting" effect on a Solid Black cat.
- Pastel on a Colorpoint Cat, appearing on top of the white of Colorpoint (and otherwise being regular tabby markings.)
Ultraviolet (Storied)
Ultraviolet is the most common of the Nightshade's Gifts, often gifted to the kits of those who have proven their worth in the world of their dreams . This gene causes the cat's skin, claws and eyes to glow with an otherworldly light. This glow can be dependent on a variety of factors, but will always show under ultraviolet light. Players are welcome to make their own conditions under which this glow shows, whether through emotion, under moonlight, a honed skill that the individual cat can control, and may optionally be multiple, or even shifting, colors.
Elemental Affinity (Storied)
Among the Speakers, it is common enough for a kitten to be born possessing an innate connection to one of the elements of the world. This element must be decided when the trait is applied, and cannot change, though many Speakers can learn to hone their magic to master other elements with time (by earning further Speaker's Magic traits.)
"Element" is a very loose term, and players are welcome to be creative with the element their cat has! As Elemental Affinity is the most basic of Speaker's Magic, it is fairly limited, allowing for only small creations and manipulations of the magic. A cat with Elemental Affinity for Air cannot create a tornado or fly, but could keep a small object afloat or run with the swiftness of the wind under their paws.
