Clowder Name: the Ivy Trail

Description: Inhabitants of a sprawling, long abandoned city, the cats of the Ivy Trail are curious, yet impersonal by nature. Shaped by low food density and cramped spaces, the clowder exists as a scattered collection of small family units called "bands" instead of a close knit community. These bands have individual dens and preferred hunting grounds within the larger general territory. Still, all cats understand the value of staking claim over hunting grounds, so will ferociously defend the outer borders from strangers.

Despite the lack of a central "camp," all cats of the Trail come together in their dreams. Followers of Night Shades, every cat is given a single name at birth, but earns a second name from their shade mentors when sufficiently trained. Great importance is put on earning this blessing, as the clowder believes cats with their birth name alone will not become a Shade after death.

MEMBERS (heading case)
Members: All cats who have passed their night trials and received their second name. Typically proficient in basic skills such as hunting, patrolling, and tool use.
Novice: Cats who have not yet received their second name, but are currently contributing members of their clowder. Mostly young cats with some outsider converts.
Nursery: This role contains a mix of expecting or nursing dams and their kittens.
