[Milestone2] Three United Youths

They had always known they were Dreamers, these young cats, at least the first two. Khaos and Aether, not siblings but raised by the same dam. A dam that walked with the dead in dreams and then taught them to walk with the dead as well.

It was not until they met the nameless cat around their age that they realized most cats were not connected to the Dreaming in the way that these two were. Khaos and Aether named this other cat Erebos, and he learned to connect to the Dreaming as well.

Khaos and Aether grew in power as they taught Erebos what the dam who had raised them both had taught them. They each had different strengths, but they all connected with the Dreaming.

Khaos grew an affinity for shaping dreams, whether their own or others. They could mold the environment in dreams as well as any of the dead. Whereas Aether was powerful in a different way, connecting to the dreams and perceiving what others might miss even in the waking world thanks to this connection. Erebos took to using the Dreaming to empower his body, becoming a more physically powerful cat.

It was Erebos who raised the idea of creating a clowder. Khaos was the one to name it the Oneiroi, after a story their dam had told them. Aether decided on the structure after some thought.

There were to be the Fledglings, those that had not yet connected to the Dreaming, as the rank for kittens and fresh recruits. Next came the Dreamers, who could connect but had not yet found a specialization.

Khaos became known as a Shaper, Aether a Daydreamer, and Erebos a Nightmare. As well, among the specialized Dreamers, there was a sense of equality. Depending on the situation, any of the three could lead. What mattered was one’s niche and experience with said niche to appoint leadership in a particular situation.

Among those training in the Dreaming, Khaos could lead, forming the dreams into training grounds for whatever they wished to be trained in. In the waking world, Aether’s connection allowed them insight that helped solve disputes among others and encourage smooth communication. And Erebos was to lead the fight to protect the rest who had given him so much he had never had.

The three are close, and they smoothly transition leadership between all three of them depending on the situation. The Oneiroi would not have been made without any of these three, who each put themselves into the clowder wholeheartedly.
